Brownshirts in the Well
Yesterday’s occupation of the U.S. House of Representatives by members of Congress protesting inaction on gun control legislation, and led by Cong. John Lewis (D-GA), violates the rules of the U.S. House of Representatives and is reminiscent of actions by totalitarian thugs in Nazi Germany.
The U.S. Constitution established two legislative branches of Congress as vehicles for representation of interests, points of view and ideas of the citizens of the United States. Elections are held periodically giving voice to citizens’ concerns and those elected are granted access to the floors of the U.S. House and Senate for legislative business.
Demonstrating in the manner that occurred yesterday should not be tolerated and Censure or Expulsion resolutions should be introduced immediately.
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan seems not to appreciate the dangers of this precedent and I urge you to contact his office and the office of all GOP members of House Committee on Ethics demanding that Censure or Expulsion motions be introduced immediately
