Watching Trump

June 29, 2016

If you are a political conservative and a committed voter, you worry that the Republican nominee for President in 2016, Donald Trump, is ill-equipped to run for President of the United States.

An entrepreneur, Trump revels in responding to immediate opportunities, though seldom does he know anything about them.

Trump University, which I commented upon at these pages on June 7, reveals the worst of Trump’s entrepreneurial verve.

Bishirjian on Trump “University”

That was followed by his attacks on the judge presiding over the Trump University lawsuits. What did he expect to gain by that?

Then, Trump, in effect, suspended his campaign to go to Scotland for the opening of one of his golf courses. Watching videos of Trump’s performance indicates that he did not travel with his campaign staff (he probably didn’t have the money to pay for their travel) and when he got there he was not prepared to address political questions in interviews.

He did a nice job promoting the new features of his golf course, however.

Trump, himself, is personally disorganized and currently operating in a field with which he hasn’t any previous knowledge. His campaign organization is virtually non-existent, and his oft-repeated claim that he will self-fund his Presidential campaign is nonsense.  Trump didn’t become a millionaire by wasting money.

If you visit the Trump for President Website and click on “Positions” you will see that “Education” is not one of his issues.

Trump for President – Positions

The one Trump spokesman on this issue Dr. Sam Clovis, is so ignorant of the higher education regulatory environment that I asked one of Paul Manafort’s former business partners to tell Manafort to “put a lid” on Clovis.

A crisis in American higher education is brewing that will lead to creative destruction of the current system of higher education and this candidate for President has no official policy?

Sorry, but The Donald is not the future of the Republican Party, he is the agent of its dissolution.
