William Peter Blatty, RIP

March 30, 2017

On January 12, the novelist and scriptwriter, William Peter Blatty, died at age 89. Best known for his novel and film, The Exorcist, Blatty is very important for his opposition to the decline of his alma mater, Georgetown University.  He did not merely complain, however.  He founded the Father King Society and brought a “Petition” to the Holy See asking “the Catholic Church to require that Georgetown implement Ex corde Ecclesiae.”

Blatty found another intellectual home at Thomas Aquinas College in California which remembers him in the College’s current newsletter.
