Watching our Media Enemies

April 28, 2019

Gabriel Sherman writes about Lachlan Murdoch in Vanity Fair on April 25 that Lachlan Murdoch is sensitive to charges that FoxNews is “State TV. ”

And well he might.

FoxNews is a business and when and if a Democrat succeeds to the Office of the President, FoxNews will be in deep doo doo.

Sherman writes, “Lachlan is a libertarian conservative, not a MAGA diehard, who in private has expressed annoyance at Trump. ‘He doesn’t like Trump,’ one person who has spoken with Lachlan told me. ‘There’s a lot of talk of the direction of the network changing under Lachlan,’ the senior Fox staffer said.”

Lachlan Murdoch already has shown his hand by appointing former Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, to the Board of Directors of Fox Corp.

Though I’m a political conservative, with a few exceptions of opinion journalists at Fox like Tucker Carlson and a Sunday program on media hosted by Howard Kurtz, I watch MSNBC and CNN.

“Keep your eye on your enemy”  is good advice when it comes to mainline media.

There is nothing good to say about MSNBC except “hopeless,” and CNN is painful to watch, not for what it is, but for what it could be if its new owners moved Jeff Zucker out of CNN and replaced Christi Paul, Nia Malika Henderson, Wolf Blitzer, Victor Blackwell, Jake Tapper, Don Lemon and Van Jones with truly objective journalists.

Instead, Lachlan has added Mara Liasson, Donna Brazille, Jessica Tarcov and flirts with Axios, a left of center, ‘objective,” source of news reporting. When he’s done taking FoxNews to the Progressive Left, I’ll have to begin watching FoxNews, so many enemies of political conservatives will it house.
