Webcasts of Distinction
There is a new Internet medium in development that provides information, news and means of communication, but cable news and Web-based journals are still in the early stages of development.
When in late 1999–twenty years ago–I founded a solely Internet-based Yorktown University, all the technology was there to create entire Internet universities at low cost.
- Fifteen years earlier, Apple introduced its first “Macintosh” PC.
- Fourteen years earlier, Web browsers were introduced.
- By the mid ’80s Microsoft dominated personal computing.
As internet commerce and communication explodes, we are delighted to offer a number of Webcasts by American Academy of Distance Learning that address serious issues of democracy in the 21st century.

Dr. Richard Bishirjian speaks of loss of China to the Mongols in the 17th century. Dr. Jack Tierney discussed the loss of France in 1940 and Dr. Marek Chodakiewicz gives a moving commentary on the loss of Poland to Nazi Germany, abandonment of Poland by the West to the USSR after W.W. II and Poland’s attempts at recovery immediately prior to and after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
And to assure that we are able to conduct more Webcasts of discussions of important issues of the day, please consider making a tax exempt donation at our secure online portal: http://www.academydl.com/donate/
