Australia Gone Nuts
If you thought that Progressive bias was bad on American college campuses, take a look at Australia. The late Paul Ramsay, founder of an Australian pharmaceutical firm, left a bequest of four billion Australian dollars to advance the study of Western civilization.
Australian “scholars” reacted negatively when the Ramsay Centre developed a college curriculum based on the “Great Books” model and offered it to Australian National University. A sizeable subsidy came with the curriculum.
Here’s a recent report attacking the Ramsay Centre’s “racist” program.
This so very familiar to those here in the United States who follow the bitterness of attacks on traditional scholarship at American universities. But the “rot” is very deep and few actions by foundations, the Trump Administration’s Department of Education or wealthy donors can reverse this cultural decline.
