Locked and Loaded
Four years ago, I published an essay in The American Spectator titled “Could We Justifiably Attack Iran.”
I reasoned that an invasion would be disastrous, but an attack aimed at killing Iran’s leadership was a better option.
Based on recent statements by President Trump and Vice President Pence, my best guess is that the President will order an attack aimed at “decapitating” Iran’s leadership. The only question is when?
Will the attack begin this coming weekend and before next Tuesday’s meeting of the U.N. General Assembly? Or, when Iranian President Hassan Rouhani returns home?
Two days ago a U.S. Aircraft carrier left the Norfolk Naval Shipyard on a journey that should take about seven days to arrive at the Persian Gulf (if that is where it was directed).
Stay tuned.
