Cry Babies
There was a time in American politics, exemplified by Richard Nixon, that Republicans understood that stealing, misreporting and other forms of electoral frauds were widespread in American cities controlled by Democrats. The 1960 Presidential election was won by the Democrat candidate by fraudulent count of votes in key states. The Republican candidate accepted that in the common understanding that there would be another election that he might win.
President Donald Trump is no Dick Nixon and wants the outcome of the 2020 election reversed and 11 U.S. Senators are playing along with Trump. They are Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and includes Senators Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, James Lankford of Oklahoma, Steve Daines of Montana, John Kennedy of Louisiana, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee and Mike Braun of Indiana, and Senators-elect Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Roger Marshall of Kansas, Bill Hagerty of Tennessee and Tommy Tuberville of Alabama.
Sen. Cruz is an expert in Constitutional Law and knows better. So should Sen. Kennedy of Louisiana, but they will vote to reject the electors from states where the outcome is disputed until an audit is completed.
That is unprecedented–and unconstitutional–and all 11 Senators ought to be rebuked. That will come, it seems, when the GOP ceases to exist as a national Party as the defeated President continues his childish Cry Baby act.
Mr. President, you are no Dick Nixon.
