Facebook is Forever, Pt. 2

October 5, 2021

In 2019 I expressed my opinion that “Facebook is Forever.”

I’m banking on that since my posts at https://dickbishirjian.com are hosted at a cost of $21.99 a month. When I am gone, so also all those “blog” posts since 2011 will disappear.

I’ve been posting them at Facebook, and collected them in a book, since I thought Facebook—and my Facebook page—would live forever and I will not.

I don’t use Facebook to disseminate ideas and my 398 friends have not expanded in number since I joined. I ignore “friend requests” since Facebook is my depository or archive.

I’m not so sure about that anymore. Two days ago Facebook’s systems collapsed and for at least one day the Facebook “app” ceased operating.

Maybe I need a backup.
