All men are created in the image of God, but we like some men more than we like others.
I had a favorite Aunt and two favorite uncles. My hometown of Pittsburgh in Western Pennsylvania is my favorite city.
But I found Munich, Warsaw and London to be “okay” places to live.
I really like the city of New York and its fine restaurants and hotels and look forward to seeing one of my favorite writers when next I’m in what he calls “the Big Bagel.”
A Marriott was built in Prague shortly before I first visited there. In Poland pork roulade is sold even in gas stations much like fried chicken is common in the United States.
And in Paris, everything is wonderful.
But, usually, we favor where we grew up and favor the sports teams of our hometowns.
Even today, I wonder how the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers are doing in the National League and the NFL.
In Dallas where I lived for three years, the Dallas Cowboys were the favorites of everyone. When they lost, grown Texans became teary-eyed.
Same for DC!
I was there when the Redskins won the Super Bowl. Wow!
I started college in Pittsburgh when the Pirates won the World Series. The people went “nuts.” Wow!
So, thank you God for making us in thy image, but I have favorites.
