CNP, Ginni Thomas and Me

March 26, 2022

Sometime during the Reagan Administration, I joined the Council for National Policy which is cited by the New York Times for March 26, 2022, as a Right Wing group from which Virginia “Ginni” Thomas spread her right wing views.

I joined CNP to scout for donors to a tax exempt organization that I founded. At one of the first meetings I attended, I remember standing next to Grover G. Norquist President, Americans for Tax Reform, when the chairman of CNP or a prominent member appointed by President Reagan to serve as a Cabinet Secretary at an Agency at which he held daily prayer meetings said something about our membership in CNP and his Christian “fundamentalist” religion.

I looked at Grover and it was clear we were both members of CNP to identify wealthy donors. In other words we were there for the money, not Jesus Christ.

Today a wife of a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States believes in what? That Donald Trump was not defeated in the 2020 Presidential election and that votes in the Electoral College should not occur?

I know women have views and valuable insights, but wives of top government officials should keep those views to themselves.
